The pastor of Muzquiz Church of the Nazarene in 1967, Julio Konikusiku, lived in Palau, a town about six miles east of Muzquiz. This is a market next door to the pastor's house.		The main street of the town of Palau, just in front of the pastor's house.

Pastor Konikusiku invited some members of the team to eat dinner at his house one evening. Pastor K wanted the team to visit some villages in the edge of desert near Muzquiz, and hold services. This water crossing was a little daunting for the VW bus and illustrates how remote the area was.
It was not a good sign that the VW bus decided to quit in the middle of nowhere. After some prayers and tinkering by Harold Mannon the bus was back on its way.
